Domain 260 Printed Airframe, 5-inch 6S

$219.00

A complete printed airframe you can bolt a VOXL 2 Mini stack into and fly. Carbon-filled PA12 unibody, ASA shells, TPU soft parts. Every component was interference-checked against the stack, pack, radio, GPS, cameras, standoffs, XT60, belly pan and arm covers before release, and the structure was validated by finite element analysis against hover, full-throttle, maneuver and crash loads. You get the numbers, not a promise.

Built for

  • Autonomy and ISR builds on VOXL 2 Mini, Doodle Labs mesh and a Radxa companion
  • Public safety and agency fleets that need a repeatable, documented airframe
  • Integrators who want a printed platform they can modify and reprint, not a one-off carbon cut
  • R&D teams iterating on payloads and sensor placement

Why printed

  • Enclosed electronics. Pod, lower body and belly pan protect the stack, radio and pack. No zip ties, no exposed boards.
  • Battery sleeve with latch. Slide the pack in from the rear until it clicks. Swap in seconds without tools.
  • Sensor-ready. GPS teardrop cover on the pod roof, 2x 6.5 mm antenna bores, ModalAI camera cage with the M0161 holder.
  • Reprintable. Crack an arm in the field and print another. Same files, same fit.
  • Dual motor pattern. 16 x 16 and 19 mm on every pad, so 2207 and 2306 class motors both fit.

Material

PA12-CF (carbon-filled nylon 12) is standard: high strength to weight, good impact toughness, stable after moisture conditioning. PPS-CF is available on request for builds that see sustained heat, fuel or solvent exposure. All structural analysis below uses PA12-CF properties after moisture conditioning, the weaker case.

What is in the kit

Part Material Mass
Unibody frame PA12-CF 130 g
Top plate PA12-CF 26.2 g
Pod shell ASA 21.2 g
Lower body ASA 18.6 g
Battery sleeve (one per pack) PA12-CF 16.4 g
Arm covers (4) TPU 95A 4.0 g each
Belly pan TPU 95A 6.2 g
GPS cover ASA 4.3 g
Camera cage (ModalAI) PA12-CF 4.2 g
Radio tray PA12-CF 3.6 g
Printed total about 247 g

Arm design

One triangle truss per arm: two edge chords and a wide diagonal, with a reinforced hub. The hub reinforcement added 3 g, made the frame 36 percent stiffer and raised the full-throttle safety factor from 5.4 to 8.3.

Structural analysis

Finite element model, 1 mm elements, free-flight balance, all motors at equal load. Safety factor is material strength divided by peak stress; above 1.0 passes. Thrust figures are the motor manufacturer's bench data.

Load case Load per motor Safety factor Result
Hover 2.1 N 63 Pass
2g maneuver 4.2 N 32 Pass
Full throttle, 1750KV with 5.1 x 4.3 tri-blade 13.3 N 11.0 Pass, 0.9 mm tip flex
Full throttle, 1950KV with 5.1 x 4.7 tri-blade (worst case) 17.5 N 8.3 Pass, 1.1 mm tip flex
Flat drop onto belly, 0.5 m, concrete impact 1.7 Pass
Flat drop onto belly, 1 m, concrete impact 1.2 Pass
Corner drop onto a motor, 0.5 m, concrete impact 1.1 Pass
Corner drop onto a motor, 1 m, concrete impact 0.75 May crack arm root

What that means in the field. Flight loads are nowhere near the limit; the worst motor and prop combination at full throttle still has an 8x margin. Normal landings and flat drops are fine. The one case to respect is a tumble that lands on a motor from about a metre onto concrete. Grass or dirt cuts that load substantially, and if your testing shows motor-pad damage the fix is a small TPU bumper under the pad, not more frame. Drop numbers assume hard ground, no cushion, and ignore the TPU belly pan and the extra impact strength printed nylon shows at speed. They are conservative.

Vibration

Lowest frame modes 72 Hz (diagonal twist), 98 Hz (all arms together), 106 Hz (front vs rear). Props at hover turn about 190 Hz. Run the RPM filter and check the gyro log on first flights before tuning up.
